The Business Registration Act came into force in 2006 and provides that any business carried out by a person for the purpose of profit or gain must be registered under the Act.

Proceeding for Registration of a new business
For Individual, to complete and submit BRF1 (Form)
- Online registration: https://portalmns.mu/cbris/
- For Civil Partnerships, succession and others, to complete and submit BRF3 (Form)
In case your Business Registration Card (BRC) is lost
1. A memo should be requested from the Police Station of your locality.
2. To call in person at CBRD with NIC
3. To submit memo and written application for a certified copy
4. Payment of Rs 100 to be effected
Amendment for any particulars on your Business Registration Card
- An amendment form must be filled
- Documents to be submitted: Amendment form, original Business Registration Card and a payment of Rs 100 should be made
- If the authorised person is submitted the form, together with the above an authorisation letter and copy of NID of signatory should also be submitted
Cancellation of a Business Registration Card
- To apply for Cancellation
- To settle any outstanding Trade Fee
- To return original Business Registration Card
